Original match worn training jacket from Wilhelm Büsing (1921-2023) from the 1952 Olympic Games in Helsinki. Büsing won a silver medal in the military team competition and bronze in the individual with Germany. With two sewn-in labels: 1) “Büsing” name label. 2) “Custom made”.
Thick cotton. Sewn Olympic emblem of the German team (embroidered, partly with gold brocade). Woven collar with black, red and gold cuffs. Gold plated buttons. Manufacturer: Georg Schwahn, Süßen. Manufacturer logo damaged. Some holes due to moth damage. Only the riders wore custom-made sportswear with gold buttons. The other athletes received standard clothing from the Schwahn company, which supplied sportswear for the German Olympic team in 1952, at least for the participants from Germany. The Georg Schwahn company was one of the largest suppliers of sports suits and trousers for the German national teams in the 1950s. From 1954 onwards, the German national football team was also equipped with Schwahn products (tracksuits) on behalf of adidas.
