Original match worn shirt Germany with number 4. Worn by a German national player in an international match 1957-1959. Cotton shirt size 6. Status: ACC. Short-sleeved cotton shirt. This version of the shirt was only worn in a few matches between 1957 and 1959, e.g. 1957 v Poland or 1958 v Egypt. The design of the shirt is identical to the shirts for the 1958 World Cup, yet the white World Cup shirts had a different variant of the DFB logo. The present variant of the DFB logo can be found on the green shirts that were taken to the 1958 World Cup but were not used. The striking feature is the typical light cotton weave of the fabric, made for high temperatures, and the flexible black stretch arm cuffs. This shirt might have been worn at the friendly match against Egypt on 28th Devember 1958, but we could not verify this. This is probably a "Leuzela" shirt, but the laundry tag is missing. Only a small fabric label saying "6" (size indication of the shirt) is present. Sewn on, embroidered linen logo of the DFB, 8 lacing holes. Sewn-on linen number. Two small tears due to game use. The shirt is made of cotton, the DFB logo is made of linen The consignor received this shirt years ago from the collection of a former DFB official. Museum piece! Condition: B
