Österreich - Trikot 1931 Sindelar
match worn football shirt Austria 1931
[414]
28.000,00€

Original match worn player shirt from Austria worn by Matthias Sindelar in the international match on September 13th, 1931 Austria v Germany (5:0, 3 goals by Sindelar) in Vienna. Swap with the German player legend Richard Hofmann. Shirt of the legendary "Wunderteam" from 1931-1933. Status: AAA. MUSEUM PIECE!! --Long-sleeved jersey with lacing. With manufacturer's logo in the collar "ReSo", size 5. The coat of arms of the Austrian Football Association with gold brocade and silk embroidery was sewn on. As usual during this time, no shirt number on the back. --Numerous darning points on the jersey, especially in the critical areas for shirt, armpits and lower waistband. Jersey was washed several times and was also worn in other international matches. But it doesn't prove that Sindelar wore this jersey in other games because the jerseys had no numbers on the back. The fabric has become thinner after washing. There are small discolorations on the gold brocade embroidery on the coat of arms. The Austrian national team used two versions of this white long-sleeved jersey variant at the time, with a pointed seam at the end of the lacing and, as in this jersey, with an angled seam. According to our research, there is no evidence of a Wunderelf shirt from this period!!! According to the German magazine "IFFHS" (22nd place) and the English magazine "World Soccer", Mathias Sindelar (1903-1939) is one of the 100 best soccer players of the 20th century. The Italian magazine "Guerino Sportivo" lists Sindelar among the best 50 players of the 20th century. Sindelar, also known as “der Papiererne”, played for Austria Vienna and won the Mitropa Cup twice with Austria (1933 + 1936). For the Austrian national team he made 43 international appearances in which he scored 26 goals. He reached the semi-finals with Austria at the 1934 World Cup. Matthias Sindelar is still the football legend in Austria today. Provenance: Richard Hofman, one of the stars and the enfanterrible of German football, got this jersey directly from the Austrian star Matthias Sindelar after the game on September 13, 1931. Exchanging jerseys was completely unusual at this time; it is not documented whether Hofmann gave Sindelar his jersey. Richard Hofmann later gave this jersey as a gift to Ernst Fritsch, the former tenant and former “patron” of Dresdner SC. Mr. Fritzsche ran the stadium casino from the 1930s to the 1950s before he had to give it up (expropriated). Richard Hofmann and other DSC Dresden players gave Mr. Fritsche a lot of souvenirs. Hofmann also gave Mr Fritsch, among other things, the DFB jersey from the England game in 1930, another DFB international jersey in white from the 1930s and this Sindelar jersey. In 2012 the Fritsch family decided to give away this shirts. The Sindelar jersey was sold directly to a German collector, who owned it until 2024. Hofmann's DFB jersey 1930 was auctioned at AGON-Sportsworld on July 6, 2012. Condition: A
